HRWF Int. (01.05.2003) - Website http://www.hrwf.net - Email: info@hrwf.net - At its April 23, 2003 meeting, the Consultative Commission on Religious Freedom of the Ministry of Justice supported the application of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the status of "well-known roots".

According to article 7 of the 1980 Organic Law of Religious Freedom, the "well-known roots" is the condition that is required from a religious denomination to be able to negotiate an agreement of cooperation with the Spanish State. Up to now, only the Protestant, Jewish and Islamic religions have been granted this status and an agreement of collaboration was concluded with the relevant representative bodies in 1992.
